आन्दोलनको निम्ति तयार बसौँ अब जीटीए फ्याँक्ने दिन आईपुग्यो – बिमल गुरुङ


डी के वाइबा, कालेबुङ 27 जुलाई।

“हुँदैन बिहान मिर्मिरे तारा झरेर नगए
बन्दैन मुलुक दुईचार सपुत मरेर नगए” – कवि भूपि शेरचेनले लेखेको उक्त पंक्ति छुट्टै राज्य गोर्खाल्याण्ड प्राप्तिको सन्दर्भमा कहिल्यै सार्थक भएन। बीर सपुतहरु गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति शहीद भए तर भएन छुट्टै राज्य। बनेन गोर्खाहरुको आफ्नै मुलुक। यहीँ परिस्थितिहरुको माखेसाङलोमा अहिले पनि शहीदहरुको साहदतलाई सम्झरे प्रत्येक वर्ष 27 जुलाईको दिन शहीद दिवस पालन गरिन्छ तर गोर्खाल्याण्ड गठनको प्रश्न भने प्रश्नहरुकै भुँवरीमा अल्झेको छ।
अस्सिको दशकमा सुवास घिसिङले चलाएको हिंसात्मक आन्दोलन अनि 2007 सालमा बिमल गुरुङले शुरु गरेको अहिंसात्मक आन्दोलनमा छुट्टै राज्य गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति शहिद भएकाहरुलाई आज गोर्खाल्याण्ड क्षेत्रिय प्रशासनको पक्षबाट श्रदाञ्जलि अर्पण गरियो। यहाँको 11 माईल स्थित रहेको शहिद पार्कमा आयोजित शहिद दिवस कार्यक्रममा मोर्चा अध्यक्ष एंव जीटीए प्रमुख बिमल गुरुङ बिशेष रुपले उपस्थित रहेका थिए। शहिदहरुलाई श्रधाञ्जली अर्पण गर्ने स्थलमा आज मोर्चा कार्यकर्ताहरुले जोडदार छुट्टै राज्य गोर्खाल्याण्डको पक्षमा नाराबाजी पनि लगाए। यस अवसरमा जीटीएको पक्षबाट बिमल गुरुङले शहिदहरु प्रति श्रदाञ्जलि अर्पण गर्दै शहिदका परिवारहरुलाई सम्मान पनि जनाए। 

तेलेंगनाले ततायो गोर्खाल्याण्डको मुद्दा : क्रामाकपाद्वारा पोष्टरिङ

डी के वाइबा, कालेबुङ 27 जुलाई। तेलेङगमा राज्य गठनको निम्ति केन्द्र सरकारले अन्तिम निर्णय लिने अवस्थामा पुगेको बेला पहाडमा भने छुट्टै राज्य गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति शहिद बनेकाहरुलाई सम्झना गर्दै बस्न पर्ने बिडम्बना बनेको छ। डमरु बडेर बाघ हुने प्रतिक्षामा 21 वर्षसम्म प्रतिक्षा गर्दा गर्दा देशमा तीनवटा राज्यहरु गठन भयो तर यता पहाडमा गोर्खाल्याण्डको निम्ति हिसात्मक आन्दोलन गर्ने सुवास घिसिङ भने सावन पानी पार्दा नै ठिक्क भए। अहिले केन्द्र सरकारले तेलेङगमा गठन गर्ने अवस्थामा छ अनि यता पहाडका जनताहरु भने सिढीँले गोर्खाल्याण्डको कतै बैतर्णी तार्ने हो कि भन्ने प्रतिक्षामा बस्नु पर्ने अवस्था रहेको छ।

सरकारले बुलेट चलाए पनि गोर्खाल्याण्ड ल्याएर छोड्नेछौँ – बिमल गुरुङ


डी के वाइबा, कालेबुङ 27 जुलाई। “यो तेस्रो चरणको आन्दोलनमा हो अब यस आन्दोलनमा सरकारले बुलेट चलाउँन पनि सक्छ। आन्दोलनकारीहरुलाई सरकारले षडयन्त्र गरेर मार्न बेर छैन। किन भने बङगाल सरकार नीतिविहिन सरकार हो। यो तेस्रो चरणको आन्दोलनमा आगमी 29 जुलाईको दिनदेखि 72 घण्टाव्यापी बन्द हुनेछ। सडकमा कुकुर बिरालो पनि हिँड्न पाउँदैन” – मोर्चा अध्य्क्ष बिमल गुरुङले उक्त घोषणा आज गरेका हुन।

Instructions for Curbing the Tendency amongst Sportspersons for giving Preference to Playing in Prize Money Tournaments Rather in Tournaments where India Participates for Medals

Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has written to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and National Sports Federations (NSFs) to curb the tendency amongst sportspersons for giving preference to playing in prize money tournaments rather in tournaments where India participates for medals rather than cash awards.

Global crude oil price of Indian Basket fall to US$ 105.95/bbl on 24-07-2013


The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas fell to US$ 105.95/per barrel (bbl) on 24.07.2013. This was lower than the price of US$ 106.27/bbl prevailing on the previous trading day of 23.07.2013.

A number of activities organized to mark first year in office


The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee completed his first year in office today (July 25, 2013). 

A number of activities were organized in the Rashtrapati Bhavan to mark this day. 

The ‘Pranab Mukherjee Public Library’ was inaugurated for the residents of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. On the occasion, the President distributed the first Library Membership Cards to select families of residents of the President’s Estate. Specially designed bookmarks for the occasion were also distributed. Addressing the gathering, the President stated that it is extremely essential to inculcate the reading habit in children from an early age. He was happy to note that a dilapidated building in the President’s Estate (which was scheduled for demolition) had been renovated and converted into the Library with a rich collection of books, newspapers and magazines along with the facility of reading rooms. He emphasized the need to revive standards of education in our country to the days of old glory when Taxila and Nalanda flourished as global centres of learning. The President expressed the hope that residents of the President’s Estate will make full use of all the facilities created in the Library. 

Mission Director for DBT to be in Ministry of Finance, L.P.G. direct benefits cross Rs 100 crores in 7 weeks

In order to improve inter-ministerial coordination and hasten the rollout of the Direct Benefits Transfer (DBT) programme, the Prime Minister has approved the shifting of the Mission Director and his officers from Planning Commission to the Ministry of Finance. This shift will enable direct supervision of the rollout of DBT across the country and resolution of inter-ministerial issues.

CBI ARRESTS AN ENGINEER OF INDIRA GANDHI RASHTRIYA MANAV SANGHRAHALAYA IN A BRIBERY CASE


The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Engineer, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sanghrahalaya, Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000/- from the complainant.  

A case was registered U/s  7 of PC Act 1988, on the basis of a complaint that Engineer, Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sanghrahalaya, Bhopal  has demanded bribe of Rs. 35,000/- for giving layout plan and for starting the awarded work for construction of share and pump house. He agreed to receive the bribe amount from the complainant in his office. 

Enforcement and Awareness Help Beed Improve Child Sex Ratio

Two years ago, Beed in Maharashtra’s Marathwada region made news nationwide on account of heinous crime of female foeticide, leading to a serious crackdown on several medical practitioners.  According to 2011 census, Beed recorded a Child Sex Ratio of 796 girls per 1000 boys, much worse than the Child Sex Ratio of 894 for Maharashtra and the all India figure of 914.

President expresses concern over large number of vacancies in Central Universities

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee attended the 2nd Convocation of Central University of Rajasthan at Kishangarh today (July 9, 2013). 

Speaking on the occasion, the President said 38 per cent teaching positions in Central Universities are vacant. He has requested the Ministry of Human Resource Development to take expeditious steps to fill them up.

The Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Anand Sharma arrived in United States of America on a four-day visit from 10th to 13th July, 2013. The Commerce & Industry Minister Shri Sharma will deliver the Opening Keynote address at the US India Business Council’s 38th Leadership Summit on 11th July, 2013. On the same day, Shri Sharma will also give the opening remarks at the Round table with National Association of Manufacturers. On 12th July, 2013 Shri Sharma will deliver his address at the US-India CEOs Forum Meeting in Washington. 

President calls upon students to pay their dividend to society by helping the weak, needy and deprived

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee attended the 8th Convocation of Malaviya National Institute of Technology at Jaipur today (July 10, 2013). 

Speaking on the occasion, The President called upon students to have a clear perspective in their minds as to what education means to them; as to what success implies; as to whether a good professional career with an attractive salary is the be all and end all in life.

Committee on Agricultural Market Reforms Recommends Universal Implementation of Model APMC Act Committee Submits Report to Agriculture Minister

The Committee of State Ministers In-charge of Agriculture Marketing to Promote Marketing Reforms has called for an effective implementation of Model APMC Act in all the states. The committee has submitted final report to the Agriculture Minister, Shri Sharad Pawar.

National Innovation Council Success Story Published in Un’s Global Innovation Index 2013 Report

The United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, along with the authors, presented the findings of the Global Innovation Index 2013 Report at an event in Geneva on the 01st of July. This year’s report emphasizes local dynamics of innovation, which have remained under-measured globally. The report shows the emergence of local innovation ecosystems as key and signals a needed shift from the tendency to duplicate previously successful models without a focus on localized context. 

National Youth Award 2011-12

President Shri Pranab Mukherjee today conferred the National Youth Award 2011-12 on 27 individuals and one organization at a function held at the historic Darbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhawan. The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Shri Jitendra Singh and several other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. It is for the first time the National Youth awards have been given by the President of India.

State Council of Higher Education to Monitor the Funds to Educational Institutions of Higher Education

The country will substantially increase the number of students in higher education in next seven years. The presentation made by the HRD Ministry to the Consultatative Committee expressed that Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) will increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) from 18% to 30%. The scheme estimated to cost Rs.99000 crore will include other existing schemes in the sector. The highlight of the scheme will be that central funding from the Ministry and UGC to institution will be through the State Council of Higher Education as against the direct funding by the Centre and UGC to educational institutions of higher education. Moreover, the funding by the Centre will be upto 90% and it will be available to even private institutions based on certain norms. 

The scheme emphasizes to promote reforms in the State Higher Education System by creating a facilitating institutional structure for planning and monitoring at the state level. It will help to promote autonomy in state universities and include governance in the institutions. One of the goals of RUSA will be to ensure academic examination reforms in the higher education institutions and enable conversion of some of the universities into research universities at par with the best in the world.

SIKKIM UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES 6TH FOUNDATION DAY

Sikkim University celebrated its sixth foundation day on 2nd July 13. A programme was organised at the Saramsa Garden auditorium to mark the occasion. Delivering the welcome address, Vice Chancellor T B Subba commended the efforts of faculty members and administrative staff in shaping the character of the university and its students. Thereafter, Professor A C Sinha, National Fellow of ICSSR delivered the VI Foundation Day Lecture on “Social Formation in and around Sikkim in the middle of the 20th Century.” In his lecture, Professor Sinha elucidated important events that shaped the existing socio-political-cultural mosaic of Sikkim. He also donated around one thousand books from his personal library to the Sikkim University.
