The international crude oil price of Indian Basket as computed/published today by Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas fell to US$ 105.95/per barrel (bbl) on 24.07.2013. This was lower than the price of US$ 106.27/bbl prevailing on the previous trading day of 23.07.2013.
In rupee terms also, the crude oil price went down to Rs 6298.73/bbl on 24.7.2013 as compared to Rs 6343.26/bbl on 23.07.2013. This was due to fall in price in dollar terms. Rupee depreciation wiped out a significant part of the gains. The rupee dollar exchange rate on 24.07.2013 was Rs 59.45/US$ against Rs 59.69/US$ on previous trading day of 23.07.2013.
