Kalimpong admin to submits developmental plans to NHPC and Railway

 MUKESH SHARMA Kalimpong, May 26 A meeting between the sub-divisional officer, Kalimpong MLA, NHPC and the Railway was held at the sub-divisional office in Kalimpong today. KALIMPONG S.D.O L.N. SHERPA Informing about the first meeting with the NHPC, the sub divisional officer LN Sherpa said that a total of 22 developmental projects have been completed in different areas and some are on the verge of completion. Most of the works have been done at Surak Samthar said Sherpa. The administration has also handed over a memorandum to the NHPC following the restoration of drinking water in different places, road constructions, 
electricity to the remotest village, renovation of the roads and a construction of bridge at Rally river. He also said that they will be meeting the NHPC general manager for the discussion of the resolution passed and the beautification of the Main road. Informing on the second meeting with the IRCON company representatives, Sherpa said that the meeting was concerning the development along the areas of the railway line. IRCON company has received the tender of Rs 6000 crs for the construction of the 42 kms long railway track from Sevoke to Rangpo which is said to be started in the end of this year. The schemes of the developments have the instigating of the solar lights along the NH31A and that of the Teesta bazar he said. The administration has also stressed on the construction of protection wall at Teesta area with the NHPC said Sherpa. The railway line shall have the station at Rambi, Teesta, Melli and in some other parts. Also present in the meeting MLA Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri said that the schemes will be made at the administrative level and submitted to the railway within ten days.
