All eyes on the High Power Committee meeting on May 29

 Kalimpong, May 26 DR.H.B CHETTRI Just before the Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) elections, all eyes are on the High Power Committee meeting for the inclusion of Terai-Dooars, slated on 29 May. The High Power Committee has been referring as per the 2001 census but on the other hand the GJM has demanded to refer the 2011 censes reports for the inclusion of the Terai-Dooars. The GJM spokesperson also the MLA Kalimpong Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri today said how the government does not have the 2011 census reports. “We will definitely question them on the upcoming meeting on the non-availability of the 2011 census reports” said Dr. Chettri. Remarking about the possibility of the GTA election Dr Chettri said that the election will be conducted on June as they have already signed the GTA pact. 

The High Power Committee’s declaration should not be biased and abstract because we have surveyed first and demanded of concerning 396 moujas of the Terai-Dooars. He also said condemned the rumors that Justice Samel Sen has a hand in the High Power Committee reports and the decreased moujas of the Terai-Dooars for the inclusion. Informing on the panchayat election he said that there is a dire necessary for the delimitation of area of the panchayats and the increment of the 112 panchayats in the hills. This is why the GJM is supporting for the GTA election said Dr Chettri. Commenting on the approaching of the Trinamool Congress in the hills, Dr Chettri said that, every party has the right to contest elections from everywhere in the country. The hills already have the National Congress, BJP, CPRM etc and the time will tell whether the people of the hills support the Trinamool or not, the GJM has its own public. Dr Chettri also assured that within 15th June the High Power Committee can produce its reports.
