Kabya Sandhu organized at Kalimpong

KNE;Kalimpong, January 20 The Nepal embassy, Kolkata in collaboration with the Upma Publication organized Kabya Sandhu, a poetic evening at the Ramakrishna Rangamanch in Kalimpong today. The evening had the presence of the Nepal ambassador Chandra Ghimirey as a chief guest, director of most backward class, Sikkim Government, TN Sharma, general secretary Krishak Kalyan Sangathan, Bishnu Chettri were present as the guests of honors. 

 The programme which was held under the chairmanship of renowned poetess Sanu Mati Rai had the presence of poets from Nepal and India. Man Prasad Subba, Mohan Thakuri, Uday Thulung, Remika Thapa, Joy Cactus, Beeru Bangdel, Gyanendra Khatiwara, Sudhir Chettri from the Hills and Manu Manchil, Chandra Ghimirey, Sudip Pakhrin, Chandra Gurung of Nepal were present. Anchor Bhuwan Khanal at the onset stressed on bringing the poetic talent under one umbrella and to further polish and preserve it. 

The upcoming poets have to be encouraged and well guided he said. Different poets present on the occasion recited their poems which enthralled the gathering. Later the Sahitya Akademi Puraskar 2012 winner Uday Thulung, and the Yuwa Sahitya Akademi 2011 winner Kamal Regmi were felicitated. The day also witnessed the release of ‘Akha bahira ko Aasu’ by Manoj Bogoti.
