Golay supporters demands for the termination of SP South

Gangtok 17 Oct: Golay supporters during a press meet in the capital today reiterated that the blame put on them about being the mastermind behind the Namthang incident is totally false. Instead one of Golay’s close aides, Jacob Khaling, today blamed the SDF for pre planning the brawl. He alleged that the area MLA cum Minister Tilu Gurung and SDF Vice President, GM Gurung along with other SDF supporters attacked them first. He also charged the SP, South, Manoj Tiwari of treating them like animals and using abusive languages and further demanded that the SP should be terminated from his services.

Claiming that during the time of the incident, they did not have any weapons with them, not even a stick, Khaling said that instead, the SDF supporters had weapons. “Our vehicles were checked by the Police at Mamring near Wai- Wai factory, and they did not find any such kinds of weapon”, he added. “Inspite of this we were treated us like goons by the Police”, he told. Mentioning about the allegation, that Golay had brought trained fighters from outside the State, Khaling said that they do not need any outsiders for their support, and all the men were from Sikkim. Likewise, speaking about the safety of the public, he said that they are fully aware of it and are very much concerned about maintaining peace in the State. “We were compelled to fight against them for our self defence”, is what he said.
