MUKESH SHARMA; Kalimpong, September 11
The CPIM leader Tara Sundas today met the Superintendent of the Kalimpong Sub Division hospital Dr P Biswas and submitted a five point’s memorandum.
Sundas said that huge land of the Kalimpong hospital has been seized by the State Government and the officials did not do anything to protest it. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Malda on August 30 had said that she will construct a hospital like that of AIIMS if the State Government gets the land. The workers who are numb as of now, is very unfortunate said Sundas.
Sundas has demanded the cataract operation in the rural area under the National Rural Health Scheme, the opening of the Psychiatric Department at the sub divisional hospital.
The medicines for cancer and cameo therapy are there in all the 16 districts of the State but the same has been missing in the Hills. In the memo, he has also demanded the facilities like CT scan, Digital X-Ray, Dialyses etc.
Dr. Biswas said that he will be talking to the government on the above issues and also the GTA Health Department head Asha Gurung.
