Sundas yet again voices for the BPL population, alleges the Govt. of fooling the people through National Health Insurance Scheme

Friday, May 18, 2012 Mukesh Kr Sharma  Recently in the hills under the National Health Insurance Scheme all the people belonging to poor families are being insured up to an amount of Rs 30, 000/-. But the scheme’s website does not provide valid names of Nursing Homes in Kalimpong, claims Communist Party of Marxist (India) (CPM) politician Tara Sundas.Only the names enlisted for the Darjeeling and Siliguri Nursing Homes are valid such as for Siliguri there are Paramount, Sunrise, N Chatterjee Memorial of Anandlok, North Bengal Clinic etc. and for Darjeeling there is Yuma. But when the poor public of Kalimpong are provided with a Master Card after their photographs are taken for the insurance, the name of the Nursing Home given in the Card are not to be found in the website, he acquaints. The names of the Nursing Homes mentioned in the Cards are hard to be found by the people and there is no address written beside the name of the Nursing Home, adds Sundas. Alleging that the Government is simply fooling the people, the politician demanded that equal provisions should be provided to the people of the hills and the plains without being bias. The Below Poverty Line (BPL) population under the Municipality area in the plains will be getting Master Card within 20th- 22nd May unlike in the hills as the scheme is being initiated in the hills depending only on the survey of 2005 households. Sundas recommends the Government and the political parties to concentrate on this issue.
