GLO Chief Chattrey Subba refuses to attend Madan Tamang’s 2nd death anniversary
mukesh sharma: Commemorating the 2nd death anniversary of the slain Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League (ABGL) head, Madan Tamang, the members of the League has decided to hold a condolence meet on May 21st, 2012 at the same spot i.e. the Club Side at Darjeeling where he was murdered.
The Vice President of ABGL, Laxuman Pradhan informing about the same said that they have appealed all the political parties of the hills and the plains to be present during the meet except for the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM). The list of invitees include the Gorkha Liberation Front (GLF) front man Chattrey Subba, United Gorkha Revolutionary Front (UGRF) head Ajay Dahal, Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) President Subash Ghising, GRNM President Dawa Pakhrin, and the members of GTF, Hill Congress and CPI (ML).
When asked about whether he will be attending the meet, to Chattrey Subba who claims to retire from politics, he answered that there is no question of him to attend the same since he has retired from politics. “I will not go to Darjeeling on that day”, asserted the GLO Head standing by his words. He further added that after his retirement from politics he spends his time in his household works. “My dedication towards Gorkhaland might have been the reason for people not supporting me and I cannot force any person to conduct agitation”, added the dismayed Subba. Lastly, he added that he will instead lead his life with his monthly pension and by earning money by selling water.
