CBI ARRESTS A LAW OFFICER OF DAMODAR VALLEY CORPORATION (DVC) FOR ACCEPTING A BRIBE OF RS.25,000/-

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Law Officer of Damodar Valley Corporation, Kolkata for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.25,000/- from the Complainant( A Panel Advocate of DVC appearing in the Supreme Court).

A case was registered U/s 7 of the PC Act, 1988 against the Law Officer, Damodar Valley Corporation Head Quarters, Kolkata for allegedly demanding around 20% bribe for processing the Complainant’s pending bills amounting to more than Rs.15 lakh.
CBI laid a trap and the Law Officer was caught red handed in his office chamber while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.25,000/- from the Complainant.
The arrested accused is being produced today before the Designated Court at Kolkata.(pib)
