NSS Day observed
MUKESH SHARMA'Kalimpong, September 27:
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Day was observed today at the Town Hall where all the schools of Darjeeling Zone were included. A total of 12 schools from Darjeeling hills and Naxalbari attended the programme. This programme is conducted every year to help the school children for their overall development.
The programme conducted under the presidentship of the Sub Divisional Officer, LN Sherpa had the presence of Education Department head, Roshan Giri as the chief guest along with the Advisor of NSS, Darjeeling Zone II, Nav Ratna Pradhan s the guest of honour. The heads of various schools were also present. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of the NSS is organizing such useful programme.
The gathering was highlighted about the imperative role of the students towards prevention and stop of corruption. Also during the programme a blood donation camp was organized. NSS Coordinators of 12 schools was also felicitated.
