Puja bonus by 20% to tea garden labourers

 Darjeeling August 21: The CPRM Darjeeling Tarai Dooars Tea Garden Labour Union Central Committee President BS Subba today demanded that the tea garden labourers should get puja bonus by 20% plus ex-gratia this year.

 The bonus and the ex-gratia have been demanded keeping in view the hike in the prices of the commodities which has touched the sky creating difficulties for the labourers to sustain their livelihood.

 It is the laboures who also shares bigger credit in branding the Darjeeling tea (Green Gold) to the whole world, but their living standard has been pathetic he added. Last year the puja bonus was given by 20% to all the labourers which included Grade A, B, C and D. According to the Government rules the highest percent of puja bonus is 20%and the lowest is 8.33 %. ==========
