Rape case accused sent for 10 years imprisonment

Darjeeling, October 11: 56 year old Bir Bahadur Subba was sent for 10 years imprisonment by Additional Session Judge, 2nd Court, Madhu Sudhan Dutta, today for community rape on a 10 year old child. Giving the further information the Public Prosecutor, Vinod Agarwal said accused Subba from Tamkulag, Rai Gaon, Avon Group, TE Sukhia Pokhari Police Station had committed rape on a minor 12th June, 2011 at 8 in the morning. He took the child to the jungle and committed the deed. The child belongs to the same village. Subba was arrested on 14th June after the child’s uncle lodged a complain against him. He has also been asked to pay Rs. 10,000 as a fine. If he fails to pay the amount then he needs to stay at correctional home for more six months, said Agarwal.
